This Privacy Policy explains what data InfoMeteo collects, how it is used and what your rights are, in accordance with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and, where applicable, the GDPR.

Who we are

InfoMeteo is a free weather forecast, air quality and tide table service. For data protection purposes, InfoMeteo is the controller of the data processed on this site. Contact: contato@infometeo.com.

Data we collect

  • The city you search for or select, used only to display the corresponding forecast.
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address, used to suggest the nearest city on your first visit.
  • Precise location (GPS) only if you explicitly grant permission to your browser; it is used once to find the nearest city and is not stored on our servers.
  • Usage preferences (language, units, time format and your cookie choice), saved in your own browser's local storage.
  • Technical access logs (IP address, browser type, date and time), kept for a limited period for security, abuse prevention and aggregate statistics.

Cookies and local storage

  • Essential cookies and storage keys: required for the site to work, to remember your preferences and to record your consent choice. They do not require authorization.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies: used only with your consent, given through the cookie notice shown on your first visit.
  • You can change your choice at any time using the "Manage cookie preferences" button below, or by clearing site data in your browser settings.

Advertising

  • We display partner ads to keep the service free. With your consent, these partners may use cookies and identifiers to personalize ads, under their own privacy policies.
  • Without your consent, only non-personalized (contextual) ads are shown.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with providers strictly necessary to operate the service (hosting, weather data providers and advertising partners) and when required by law or court order.

Retention

Technical logs are kept for as long as needed for security purposes and then discarded. Preferences saved in your browser remain on your device until you delete them.

Your rights (LGPD/GDPR)

You may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization or deletion of your data, and withdraw any consent given. To exercise these rights, write to contato@infometeo.com with "Privacy" in the subject line.

Security

All site traffic is encrypted (HTTPS) and we adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we process.
